Field-equipment training helps learners use surveying instruments safely, consistently and with an understanding of the checks required for dependable observations. Programmes may cover total-station setup and operation, automatic or digital levels, RTK and GNSS receivers, handheld GPS units, data collectors, field-book preparation, data download, basic calibration awareness, equipment care and troubleshooting. Each programme is scoped around the learner's experience, the equipment available and the work they expect to perform. Demonstrations are followed by guided practice where site, weather, safety and equipment conditions permit. Maplas teaches setup, observation discipline, recording and independent checks; training does not by itself authorise a participant to undertake regulated professional work. Sessions can be arranged from Malindi and at suitable locations in Watamu, Kilifi or elsewhere in Kenya. Equipment responsibility, participant numbers, venue, duration, prerequisites and any assessment are agreed before booking.
