Survey and geospatial projects often need careful decisions before anyone goes to the field. Maplas provides consultancy and technical support to clarify objectives, review available information, identify data gaps, plan methods, select appropriate equipment or software and define useful outputs. Support may include survey-project planning, survey-data review, GIS project guidance, field-team support, processing workflows, map and plan preparation, technical reporting, documentation and tailored team training. Our role and limits are agreed at the start. We distinguish technical advice from approvals or regulated professional acts that require an appropriately licensed practitioner. Where regulated survey work is part of the assignment, it is undertaken through an appropriately licensed survey partner. Clients remain responsible for providing complete records, current instructions and authorised project information. Consultancy can be delivered from our Malindi office, remotely where suitable, or on site in Watamu, Kilifi and other Kenyan locations by arrangement.
